What are Message Appeals?

Message appeals help to get the consumer to purchase the product by convincing their act to buy. Message appeals are suppose to make you feel emotional, whether it sad, happy, humorous, or rational. There are many different message appeals that are all used for different products or services. Message appeals include; fear, musical, scarcity, rational, youth, and humorous.

Fear

These message appeals are suppose to make you scared of what will happen if you don't purchase this product or what will happen if you continue to use this product such as those anti vape commercials.  

Musical

Musical messages are catchy songs, or saying. These catchy songs and saying get stuck in your head for days, and that product or service will all ways be on your mind. 

Scarcity 

Scarcity promote a sense of urgency that a consumer must purchase this product right away because there is limited stock and the product is popular.  

Rational 

Rational messages try to rationalize why you should purchase this item. such as make your life easier, save you money, better for the environment, etc.  

Youth 

Youth message appeals are suppose to make a consumer feel younger such as facial creams promoting  younger looking skin.  

Humorous 

Humorous can be funny little skits such as seen in GEICO commercials that are 20 second long clips of people saying or doing funny things.
